Veneers
veneersVeneers are thin shells that are applied onto the teeth and bonded to the surface. Although they can be made of different materials, porcelain is frequently used because of its durability and realist appearance. Veneers are a conservative alternative to crowns since they require less removal of the tooth’s original surface. With veneers in place, patients can expect straighter, whiter, and more even looking teeth.

Crowns
When a tooth is cracked, decayed, or damaged, a crown may need to be fitted onto the tooth. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth. Crowns are made of porcelain, gold, or porcelain fused to a metal coping. Porcelain crowns have the most realistic appearance because they blend with the natural teeth in color. Crowns can whiten, reshape, and realign existing teeth, adding to healthy and youthful smile.

Dental Implants
For individuals who wish to replace missing teeth, dental implants may be an effective long term solution. Implants provide greater structural support and last longer than either fixed bridges or removable partial dentures. Implants serve as the artificial root form to which new teeth are attached. They are constructed of titanium, a strong biocompatible metal that effectively attaches to the bone. There are three stages to the implant process, a. insertion of the implant into the bone, b. osteointegration of the bone to the implant (healing), c. attachment of the new restoration to the implant. Dental implants are also useful in combination with full or partial dentures for added retention and function.

Composite Fillings
Modern dentistry has increasingly turned to composite restorations as a strong, durable, safe and more natural looking alternative. Composite materials are bonded to the tooth, thereby reducing the chance for post placement sensitivity. Advancements in technology have lead to composites that are suitable for anterior (front teeth) and posterior (back teeth) placement.

dental-bridgeBridges
A bridge is a restoration used to fill the space where a tooth is missing. A typical bridge consists of a spacer tooth attached to two crowns on either side of the space. Once fabricated by our laboratory technician, the bridge structure is cemented onto the teeth. Without the use of a bridge, spaces in the mouth from missing teeth lead to shifting of the teeth, changes in the bite, TM joint problems, and periodontal disease. Bridges safeguard the integrity of the existing teeth and help maintain a healthy smile.

Dentures
Dentures are a replacement for missing teeth. When teeth are missing naturally or are removed, dentures can be used to replace the teeth. Dentures may be partial dentures replacing just a few teeth, or full dentures replacing all of the teeth. Missing teeth can cause the loss of facial fullness giving a premature aging appearance. Dentures can be held in using dental implants, thereby giving the denture wearer security and confidence.
